Putting out your bins

Rubbish bins need to be placed on your land within arm's reach of the pavement (but not on it) by 7 o'clock in the morning on the day of collection. If it is not put out on time or in the right place it may not be collected.

Bulky items for disposal

If you need to dispose of a bulky item and cannot get to one of Bromley's Reuse & Recycling (aka tips) centres call Bromley council on 020 8313 4557. There is a minimum charge of £25 for this service. The total cost of your collection will depend on the number and type of items. Concessions are available if you receive housing or council tax benefit. If you are intending to use this service it may be better to ask your neighbours if they have any bulky items that need disposing of and share the cost.

Getting a waste permit

To use the Reuse & recycling centres residents of Bromley need a permit. To get a permit, please request one in writing (quoting your council tax number) from London Borough of Bromley, Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley BR1 3HH or call customer service on 020 8313 5447.

Disposing of Hazardous Waste

Don't put hazardous waste (like paint stripper) in your dustbin. Call 020 7332 3433 for a free collection. To dispose of asbestos you can use this service or take it to Waldo Road Reuse & Recycling centre.

Paid Green Garden Waste collection service

You can buy stickers (£1 per sticker) from the Civic Centre, your local library or by posting your name, address and cheque (payable to LB Bromley) to: Greeen Waste Services, London Borough of Bromley, Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley BR1 3HH. Once you have received your stickers call freephone 0800 389 3804 to arrange your collection.
