In the actions of the last meeting it was agreed that Onyx would speak to the lorry drivers to stop them using the vehicle horn's unnecessarily. Today there was a lot of lorries using their horns. When questioned about this an Onyx employee at the site said that it was because they were busy there the refuse lorry drivers who were queuing decided to muck about beeping at each other with their horns.
Onyx were also asked why despite considerable activity within the tipping shed the sprinklers were not on. One of the Managers of the site advised that they only tend to put the sprinklers on if there is a smell and they didn't think there was a smell. This is despite Section 8.3 of Onyx's waste disposal licence stating that it must be on if there is any activity in the tipping shed.

Waste is supposed to be moved off the site within 24 hours. However there was a huge quantity of waste left on the site over the 25th and 26th December.

29th December 2005

Waste on the site is not allowed to exceed 3m in height (the height of the brick wall at the back of the shed). However waste in the tipping shed was nearly to the ceiling for some of the day and was left like it overnight.
